I'll eat my words!! Went to make my first charge at Ralph's for $293. DENIED! Called the idiots at BBVA and all he said is "your account is under review and charging is suspended". I asked for a Manager and "there isn't one for this Department, they'll be in tomorrow morning." I just activated it yesterday (Wednesday), no clue why they couldn't mention something then.
Fortunately my REAL Amex SPG bailed me out.Well that's an interesting turn of events. So you would be card #2. Sorry to hear B!! So, see if you can get to the bottom of things tomorrow. I haven't had any issues (knock on wood) on mine.
Well, on the upside, it's suspended, not closed. Still not pleasant by any means.
as well as I just found out when a online transaction was declined. I also was told I needed to wait for a letter and there was no one I could speak too. The rep this evening was polite and apologized for the inconvenience. I have used the card the past week and just made a payment to pay off the $213 balance of a $14,500 credit line.
Whats kind of funny to me is when I log into my online account it shows a 0 balance yet only $14,400 available of a $14,500 credit limit. I am not sure what is going on but thank god the transactions was declined online at overstock.com and not in a store full of people.

I think yours is number 3 Chief_Wahoo

I can't believe it either. This lender just screams shadiness to me and I'm starting to see a patttern with these shutdowns.
Wow, this is terrible news. Glad I didnt take the bait on this card. Sorry you guys have to put up with this, I can now safely remove BBVA from any future dealings with.
I am lost to why. The day I applied, someone even phoned me to verify things and I was approved the next day. The pulled experian for me. I live in Northwest Pennsylvania as well so it's not like I can just go to a branch to complain.
I will wait for the letter and depending on what it says, I will decide then whether to close account and fight to have all info about this card removed from my credit reports as well.

Just face it. They just screwed you over. Never bother with them again.
I don't even remember BMO Harris being this ridiculous.
Wonder how many more new cardholders are in this same boat and just not aware yet? This might only be the start?
At first it was convincing that it was likely just an isolated incidence or two but now? I dunno. This could escalate.
