BEST BUY = DUH....

I am so tired of dealing with insufficient customer service reps.  Best Buy has the worst in my opinion.  First of all last year when I applied over the phone I went through 4 people giving them ALL the same exact information.  I was asked about things in my past and I have no idea how they would even know - this was all to verify who I am.

After 30 minutes of this, I was turned down on the phone.  Two weeks later I got an email welcoming me to Best Buy with a CLI of $750.  After several weeks, I never received the card.  I then received a letter from their Fraud Protection Department.  I had to AGAIN verify information.  They finally sent the card.  Yes, I did check my credit reports and there was and is still nothing unusual.  I do not have any flags or anything.

Today, I received a duplicate card in the mail.  I did not ask for one.  I called and they had no idea why I received it.  Their answer... "Dunno, just cut it up."  Oh but how about we set you up on our Identity Theft Program.  I felt like saying how about better customer service?

I am sorry but this just really irritates me.  Has anyone else had this experience with Best Buy?

Re: BEST BUY = DUH....

Yeah, I have found their CS to be pretty clownish from my supposed soft pull pre-app (that was neither) onward. I'm OK with the store, insofar as I'm OK with any big box store, but the card CS is just sad.

I'm still mystified to find that I have 51 points on a Reward Zone account (the store goodies system, not the MC), dating from 12/23/07. No one in the family remembers shopping there or signing me up, although 2 days before Christmas, who knows; I looked through all my accounts and there were no checks, debits or charges for BB; but they swear I joined up then. And there are those points.

Maybe they belonged to the Julie with the same last name as mine that they insisted I identify when I jumped through their ID hoops. Ha, Julie, they're mine now!
