BOA Alaska Air Visa Sig PC ?

Coming up on my card anniversary, moving away from AK, and don't want to pay the annual fee.  What is the best card, just to have something to keep the account open with, to PC to? I only utilize credit cards to pay things quickly and pay the bill right away. No real goals w/ the card, I have a few rewards cards already AMEX BCE, USAA MC cash rewards, AMEX TrueRewards (waiting to see where that one goes).  I just have no reason to keep paying the annual fee for this card.

For a PC, what is the benefit?  Does it keep the original opening of the first card? Otherwise, I would just look to close it.

Except the Alaska Airlines card is a partner program and may not be eligible for PC to other BOA cards.  Now, PC policies can change from time to time but perhaps you can contact BOA to see what your options are and determine whether the Travel Rewards or Merrill+ can be entertained (if you travel).

Typically, with a PC, the open date and most of the terms of the account (i.e. APR, CL, etc.) remain the same.  Only the rewards structure, card number and maybe the payment date/payment address may change.

Thank you for the reply.  From my research they will allow you to PC from a partner program card to a non-partner program card, but they don't allow competition between the partner programs.  My chat with them just now gave me the option of the BankAmericard Cash Rewards or the BankAmericard Travel Rewards. With that in mind there is only one option I guess.

Both of those have no AFs, so just a matter on whether any of the two are something that would fit within your long term goals and/or portfolio.
