BOA Credit Card

I am a bank of america preferred rewards card member, and only got a 1k limit on a credit card I have with them. I do have 3 new accounts within the previous 6 months because I dont have any cards, all auto finance and mortgage. These limits are quite higher, and I'd like to keep my utilization down since I spend close to 1-2k a month on the credit cards and always pay in full. My question is if I let this account sit and never use it because the limit is so low. Can I still get an auto increase yearly? any tips on what I could or should do to get this limit increased? thanks.

Re: BOA Credit Card

In 90 days or so look for the link in your account to request an increase. It normally appears between 90 and 180 days. Shoot for the stars, they'll counter offer. You don't have to run much through it in order to get that increase. Once the CLIs start rolling in, they'll come like clockwork.

Agree with Gmood1 though i would at least use it for something. Using it will at least show it wont just sit there. But one thing with Boa, they will be generous on cli to a point. If you make decent money then youll enjoy the ride a little longer than us on the kiddie ridesSmiley Wink

Re: BOA Credit Card

I would not ask for a CLI now unless you need it.  Just use it and PIF.  You have new accounts and probably INQs on your CR so that could be a red flag if your other CCCs do a MR.
