Apologies in advance if this has been discussed, but I have the BOA cash rewards category set to online shopping. In the past if you used walmart pay to make in-store purchases, this would count towards online shopping and you would get 3%. This no longer appears to be the case. Does anyone else have a recent DP to share whether they're still getting 3%?
I have only ever received the 2% supermarket with my CCR. One difference is that I shop at a Walmart Neighborhood Market, which I believe codes differently than the superstores.
I've been researching Walmart.com (the app is probably the same) recently as an alternative to Amazon Fresh since Amazon is increasing the minimum order for free delivery from $35 to $150. When the change happens I won't be using Amazon Fresh anymore, and Walmart.com looks like the best alternative for delivery.
When researching it I read that Walmart.com codes like a normal online store (3% on CCR) and not grocery (unlike Amazon Fresh), and a lot of people were complaining about this on other sites. Maybe they are changing it so it codes as groceries now so people can get grocery store cashback instead? Apparently the old grocery.walmart.com (or something similar) site used to code as grocery before it was merged with Walmart.com.
We used to get 6% on our BCP for Walmart pickup and delivery. It would be nice if that returned.
Any order I place on walmart.com codes as online shopping on my BofA CCR card, including grocery delivery and pickup. I use this card to place online orders for in-store pickup wherever possible. BofA cards are poggers if you have Preferred Rewards. On a side note, I personally find W+ to be a tremendous value, easily exceeding the value of Amazon Prime. If Amazon brought back no-fee Whole Foods delivery, that might be a different story — though I really try to avoid Amazon these days due to how imported junk listed by 3rd party sellers has esentially hijacked the site. But, I digress.

You're correct. Grocery pickup from the old website used to code as grocery and not just an online purchase. However, in-store purchases through the walmart pay app had always coded as an online purchase (at least for BOA). Now I'm not sure if this would be the same if this purchase was made at a neighborhood market.

I wonder if BCP still gets 6% at neighborhood markets? These purchases through the walmart app now are coding as grocery with my BOA CC, although this is a superstore and not a market. I know Amex is different, but I may test and see since I do have BCP too.

Thanks for the DP, I have always made purchases at the superstore.

Yes, walmart.com still codes as online shopping for me too. In-store purchases through the walmart pay app are no longer coding this way for me.

That sounds promising for BCP. BCP is my grocery card too so I'll try delivery from Walmart in March (after Amazon Fresh price hike) if nobody tries it before then.
