Ahh those are teeny and old ... maybe they did want to take a closer look.  You're going to get it though... scores are very good.

Good luck on the card and a nice big ole CL!  Smiley Happy

Re: BOA: Multiple Inquiries BOA and FIA

Well, I did get approved for the card but I'm getting more and more difficult to please. The offer I accepted on-line was preapproved for $3,500, but based on a few posts here I thought I'd get a bigger CL. A CSR called me today and said congratulations, but first we have to verify some info. I had to give her 3 street names from around my previous residence. Doesn't seem like much verification and in fact, it's about the only information a thief could easily verify if needed....

Anyway, she said I was approved for the $3,500 and if that was enough. I said, frankly I was expecting something in the neighborhood of $10,000 and she said okay, we'll see what we can do, though she'd have to talk to the credit department to see what could be done. After a few minutes she got back on the phone and said that based on my credit history, $3,500 was the maximum they could grant at this time, but with a good history over the next few months they'll likely grant increases.

I said, I understand and will wait for my card to arrive in the next 5-10 business days. It's funny, six months ago I would have been doing cartwheels to get a BOA card with a CL of $3,500, but now I feel a little disappointed, but am still happy to get the card.

FICO of 729 - could be higher CL, but it is a good start  Smiley Happy

Re: BOA: Multiple Inquiries BOA and FIA

Now my final step for the next several months is to convert my Citi PremierPass (which doesn't report credit limits) to the Diamond Preferred (or any card that reports limits). When I call
to do the product change I may ask for a CLI, but I'm not sure. I've only had the card since October.
Any thoughts?

On a related topic, it looks like somehow the Bureaus know the limit on the PremierPass card even though it doesn't show a limit. I just received a score watch update when the card reported a few days ago and according to Equifax, it said going from a 0 balance to a $2,000 balance was a 25% increase. Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but it doesn't look like they're considering the card as maxed out. In fact, I got a 4 point score boost with the new balance. (Of course I'm still hoping that next month they report my previous high balance which was $8,000--before my first statement was generated).
Rust never sleeps and neither does my fico score...

I think that we're seeing the first signs of credit contraction, when people with scores like yours and only two old minor lates are getting a third of the CL that we would have expected a month ago.

Re: BOA: Multiple Inquiries BOA and FIA

I guess so. My timing is always impeccable ::Smiley Sad(( but I'm still happy to get in with BOA. Now I've got 2 nice prime cards (Citi and BOA) and will manage them responsibly. Hopefully BOA will increase the limit over the next 3-12 months.

And, when BOA called me yesterday to tell me I was approved for $3,500 and I told them I was hoping for more, it looks like they pulled a hard inquiry from TU. So, I took hard inquiries on all 3 reports, but at least I got approved. It looks like I was close to not getting approved, and had they pulled TU first, I'd have been shot down. TU FICO = 680 (they're slow to update some balances to 0).....
