BOA Secured Card

I have read some conflicting information on whether the BOA secured card is a rewards card.  I have read multiple posting that it earns rewards like the 123 rewards card, but on their website it doesnt talk about the rewards program for the secured card.  Right now I only have the CO Platinum and after my 3rd statement I will try to PC for rewards.  In a couple months I'll be looking to add another card and have been thinking it would be discover and if it's secured at least I can still earn rewards.  But after reading about BOA - if there secured is a rewards card I might be more interested in going that route.

Does anyone have any insight on this?

Thanks Smiley Happy

I'm not sure but I will say that your best bet would be to call and find out...good luck...Smiley Happy

Re: BOA Secured Card

Depends on which secured card you're talking about.  They offer more than one kind.

If it's the regular white BankAmericard Secured, then no, there's no rewards.

They also have a secured version of the red Cash Rewards card.  Some get it for 99/500, while others get the 300 minimum deposit version.  That one gives back the 3-2-1 rewards for a $39 AF.

Re: BOA Secured Card

Yes I thought I might need to call...

Ok so now that makes sense MrDisco99... and you have to be offered the 123 rewards secured version by applying for the unsecured rewards version first, correct?  And of course I've read there is no guarantee...

Thanks I will see how the next couple months pan out before attempting that...

Re: BOA Secured Card

I had the white one as a 99/500. After it graduated in 5 months, I called in and had it PC to a 321. For some reason I am thinking that they can add rewards to the white one if you call them.... FYI account # did not change on my card
NFCU $60.4k/PenFed $22.5k/Commerce $15K/53 $11K/Synovus $14K/BBT $11K/CapOne $12K/DCU $7.5K/BMO $7.5K/Chase $14.5k/Cabelas $10K/ and many many more!
Total CL $398600, plus car and RV loan.
Ooh. Ooh. Getting closer to that $500K mark!
