Logged in to my Bank of America accont and noticed a prompt to update my income so that they could consider me for a CLI. On the income update page, they said that the request will not generate a request on my credit report.
Anyone else getting it?
I never had it to pop up but I have seen a few. So if I was you I would do it right now. You are one of the lucky ones
Same boat here! I've had my BoA card since 2014, and have never had an automatic CLI or offer to do so. It would be amazing to have that offer pop up - hope you nabbed it!
How long has it been since you applied for a new product or CLI with them? By the rules of the CARD Act, lenders are supposed to ensure that they have updated income information. From what I have seen here, the SP CLIs usually come up as offers that you accept. I've never received a SP CLI, but DW and I both received $3,000 auto-CLIs early in 2016 on cards that had been opened for 11-15 years at that point. All of my Chase cards are currently prompting me to update income info (even though I already have), which could be considered for a credit line increase but for some reason I seriously doubt I would ever see an auto- or SP-CLI from Chase.
I have had my BOA card for 17 years. It was opened as a First Union card, and is now a BOA, has been since 2006 I think.
I had a CLD back in 2008, where they balanced chased me from 4400, to 2800 over 60days. Now I have a whopping $7600 line after a HP CLI back last year.
( I have CLs >$50k with Chase and Amex each, >$30k with Discover so I dont get it)
BOA for me is the necessary PITA since its one of my oldest accounts. And after last year I have SD'd my card and only use for the very few BOA deals that make sense.
(they pissed me off )

I have often wondered if my account gets no love because its an old FU/MBNA account and they see them differently than "organically" approved accounts?
Oh, to K's point, I cant find a way to update my income anywhere in my account.

My Travel Rewards card was a $5100 MBNA card acquired by BOA - it had a auto-CLI to $8100 last Spring, a HP CLI to $16,200 and another HP CLI to $26,800 since then. Wife had a $22k MBNA card, it had an auto-CLI to $25k last Sping, a HP CLI to $40k, a HP CLI to $60k and another HP CLI to $70k since then. (Some of my limit was taken a few weeks ago to open a 4th BOA card, which is understandable as I am at $75k + AU on my wife's $70k card.) Short answer: unlike Capital One, Bank of America doesn't treat you poorly if your card was acquired through another lender!
As for updating the income, unless you get a prompt the only way to update it online is by applying for a new product or credit line increase.
Thanks K,
Figured as much. I really want that card to be par with my wallet, but there I dont think passing up my other rewards are worth it.
Good to know that BOA hasnt treated you poorly, and they possibly havent treated me poorly, I propbably dont use the card enough to warrant a CLI....
Under my card name, I have a pull down button appear.
>"Get more buying power"
>>"You're selected. Update your income information and request a credit line increase."
Takes me to update annual income page.
"Just submit your total annual income to complete your credit line increase request. This request will not create a credit bureau inquiry"
"Selected" means this invitation is based upon information we have concerning you and your account. If that information changes, you may become ineligible for this invitation. Your current income information is needed to qualify for a line increase and will impact the size of your increase, if any. We will not request a consumer report as a result of your response to this invitation."
So this is a soft pull?
I knew that I would probably never get a SP CLI on my AK siggy card so I figured out a way around it. I have increased the CL from 4.8k to 9.8 k in 14 months by applying for and getting 3 AK Plat cards ( one at a time) I close as soon as I hit spend req and get the mile bonus, I then PC CL to my Siggy before closing. It may be harder to do that now as BofA is tightening up on churners. LOL.
