BYE BYE Hooters

Had this TL only a few months. Had CL at 5k along with 9.9 apr. Just paid balance down to zero, most I owed was 175.00. Got a message thru their website about increasing apr to 17.9 bc I got higher CLi with other creditors. WTF!!! Called them this morning, CSR rep mentioned to me about apr will be lowered by 04-08 and told me about cli to 9.5k with hard pull. Told them to go to you know where and to close account. Just logged  and  see new Cl as 9.5k. Not sure if credit pull was ordered. If they did a pulI, I will notify banking dept here in NYC, bc I asked them if call was monitored and rep told me it was. Hope you all be carefull with Merrick Bank.

All I read is positive posts, but now my annoying post.

Re: BYE BYE Hooters

you mean to tell me that if other creditors give me more of an increase, they can raise my apr?

Re: BYE BYE Hooters

Your APR went up because better terms on other cards? That makes no sense. That would make someone less likely to use the card.

These companies are going crazy...

Re: BYE BYE Hooters

It looks like Hooter's is becoming as finiky as Juniper, and some others.

I think it's partially due to the financial jitters going around the financing institutions. (imo)

Re: BYE BYE Hooters

I do PIF and do not revolve balances. So interest rate does not matter to me as I would not keep the balances after the grace period. Some of my cards have AF. I have to ask them to waive the AF and if they say no, then I have to start closing the cards one by one.

Re: BYE BYE Hooters

Yes, that what Universal Default mean.

If you are late or delinquent with credit card no#1, Credit card no#2 can raise your Apr, and lower your credit limit.

I learned that one from watching Suze Orman show faithfully.
