Hey guys,
I woke up today to an email from BOA offering me 5% rewards on gas, grocerys, drugs, and resteraunts until March 31st. I have not used this card really since BT to Slate when I first started in April of last year. I already have 5% on gas with my other cards for this quarter but def pulled it out and put it in my wallet since I go out to eat daily. I also logged in to my accoutn and did not see any messages or offers for this anywhere, I had to activate it through the email they sent me.
Hope this helps! ![]()

Is there a cap?
I'd assume there has to be.

Is this the Cash Rewards card? I've never seen or heard of Bank of America doing this.
Nice one! Now come on BofA, drop that puppy over here on Magic's lap too. I haven't used mine for a few months either but the extra % could quickly change that ![]()

Interesting. I wonder if this is a signal that BoA wants to get more aggressive in courting business and is willing to compete with the top tier cards benefits-wise. The travel and cash are already good cards, but they could really make them great if they could sustain this sort of thing, or throw a wide net.

says 2,500 points max so looks like $500 in spending.
and yes my account is now called Rewards Visa Signature since my old product was phased out (card still works), hence in a few months I will have the same boring design as all of their other cards and will either get Privlages or Merrill Lynch

Not bad. How do you register for the offer?

Well, that why I want to know more details! Cit and Barclays often have targetted bonuses which are capped at $25 bonus for that quarter, which doesn't really alter the value proposition much (although people feel it does, same way as Discover sending $5 gift cards).
At least three cards offer limited time but uncapped 5% in some of these categories (WF, 5% gas, groceries, drugs for 6 months, TD, 5% gas, groceries, dining, utilities for 6 months, and Century/Citizen, 5% gas, groceries and drugs for 90 days). All three drop to useles 1% cards after the period ends (but can be extremely valuable during that period!). So if BoA had a generous 90 day promo, but then stayed a pretty good card after, that would be very competitive.
ETA: OK, so 2500 points, $25, same as Citi and Barclays.

Yes, not as exciting as it could be, but I would still like them to solicit me with this offer.
