How long of a memory does BOA have? BK discharged in 2001 and they were listed. Recently I've been getting pre-approval notices monthly for their rewards platnium product. Credit is well established, several cards 20k+ etc... I don't want to waste an inquiry if they blacklist like Chase.

Long, especially if they were IIB. Similar to Chase and AENB, for example.
Outcomes will vary for a variety of profiles who are able to re-establish a relationship with BoA since there's plenty of DPs on those who were able to get eventually approved. Yet, there are those who BoA will not let back in.
Also, keep in mind, those are pre-selected invitations, not pre-approved (if you look at the correspondence). Unfortunately, these solicitations are not cross-checked with your prior BoA (or their previous affiliates) history. Only way to know if you're still on the naughty list is when/if you apply.

+1
The only way to know is just to try it.
I can contribute a data point, though. I have a BK from 2000, and a MBNA Visa card was included; of course MBNA was eventually acquired by BoA. Once I had clean credit files BoA didn't hold the old IIBK account against me.
Just a note, the one time I applied with BoA before my file was clean I was declined, but not for the account that was included in BK.
