I'm interested to know as well. A prior BOA card that graduated less than two years ago, I couldn't find an inquiry on my EX report (which they've always HP/SP'd me on over the years) and there's nothing on the TU/EQ reports from them.
I don't know if it's changed or not but I'd certainly like to know for certain one way or the other on their current practice.
Edit: if the question was re: CLI's, yes they absolutely HP for those.
My mistake, I was just concerned about the unsecured part of it. I edited my post. But then again, I heard its best to ask for a CLI at the same time you attempt to unsecure it so...
I got a bit impatient and decided to just call them. Spoke to a credit analyst and she explained the process of unsecuring my secured card, and it does require a hard pull. I don't qualify until June, so I will call back then. Since it requires a hard pull, im just going to ask for a CLI and hope its only one pull.

That's unfortunate, I didn't even notice when my card unsecured so it's possible that it was a HP and my date is off. Thanks for the the update.

Its possible that its a hard pull if the cardholder requests it, but a soft pull if BOA auto unsecures it too. So, that may be an option.

+1
Hahaha! I love that! I have always been curious to see what they would say if we did request amount that high. I'm so used to my accounts being less than <$1,000 limit that when it comes to trying to ask for a credit line increase, it feels weird asking for a $5,000 line!

Thank you both for your reply! I was told by the credit analyst that there is a Hard Pull for unsecuring the account, and that if I would like a credit line increase, it is recommended for me to check both boxes (Request Credit Line Increase & Unsecuring a Secured Card) so then they do not pull my credit report twice.
However, they said they use the same report for 30 days, unlike some lenders (I can't even remember who!) that use your report only for 2-3 days before needing to re-pull.

There's an online or some other form for doing this now for unsecuring? Checking both boxes?
