Barclay BT

When I applied for JetBlue on 4/9, I set up a BT for $700 from a Cap1 account. That BT is still in process. I'm a new customer w/ Barclay with this card and read that it can take up to 30 days to finish processing. Does anyone have experience w/ this? Does it take the full 30 days? The acct that I am transferring from cuts a new statement on the 20th, and that's when I'm due for a CLI, so i was hoping it would be done. Do I have a chance? TIA

Re: Barclay BT

Typically balance transfers initiated along with a fresh app won't even start processing until 2 weeks after the card has been approved.

So I'd say you have no chance of getting the payment to CapOne by the 20th (11 days after app).

Make at least your minimum payment.

Re: Barclay BT

BT takes longer for new accounts, because credit card companies need(mandatory) to send the account terms and conditions to you ( and you know, they will send by snail mail!). Hence stated by other member, your BT won't start until after atleast 2 weeks from the day your account was opened. So chances of BT completing before  20th, is bleak.

Re: Barclay BT

Thanks y'all! I've already made a payment this month, so I'm not worried about that. I just wanted my balance to be significantly lower when I applied for my cli with cap 1. It's really no biggie, as I can wait for the cli! I haven't even gotten the card yet, but I'm still pretty giddy that Barclay let me in! 🤓
