I've read a lot about people having credit limit decreases and even closed accounts from Barclays because of subsequent inquiries and new credit. My question is: other than the impact on overall utilization, how does the closure of an account by the creditor effect your credit report?

I'd recommend taking a look at this stickied thread ~ basically there is no impact to your FICO score unless your revolving utlization increases as a result of losing the credit limit.

I don't think it would be an issue with most creditors, and it wouldn't impact your FICO score negatively for only being open a few months....
