If you are "doing nothing wrong" then there is nothing to fear.I don't know if that's true when it comes to Barclay. I'm pretty sure that many of those who have had AA by them would disagree with you as well. I haven't done anything wrong and they make me nervous.
But in each case that AA was done, look at the data points for the reasons they took AA.

I do that for 2 reasons.
1. During the time I'm saving, I ask myself if I really want/need that item.
2. If I do purchase it, I can pay in full once the bill comes and to keep me from paying the minimums.
I am currently thinking of an expensive watch I absolutely love. I am saving the money for it now, won't have it til October or so and while saving I am looking to see if I find it cheaper and if I really want it.
I know saving $ before you purchase may not be an ideal situation for some, especially in emergencies, but so far it works for me.
Yes if you are buying merchandise. But 13k is not all credit card. Most of it is from federal taxes. Much Rather owe my bank and pay interest. Than owe Uncle Sam and pay their interest. It's always about what is best for individual. Not one size fit all. So if minimums were goid for op at that time. So be it.depending how much minimums are. So on 13k. Minimums are combined. 324 dollars. I pay about 1500 a months to bring it down. That way in a year. Very little debt.
I'm not entirely sure I understand you here. I was just saying what I will do. I'm not saying OP should do what I do. MY way of avoiding CLD's is to just PIF. How op or anyone else do it is their business. ![]()
I'm not sure what u meant about taxes. I didn't read all of everyones post so I may have missed something.

Does everyone always tell every detail? You don't know if the balance they carry was due to a drunken casino adventure or an emergency medical procedure copay. Obviously the OP did something to spook the issuer, who has every right to limit their liability and or close the account.

I prefer the drunken casino. ![]()
.....or medical injury following the drunken casino spree ![]()
just kidding
I think creditors seeing balances climb overall also has a lot to do with AA.
You guys are so funny
But I still wish OP would tell us what Barclay said was the reason for the CLD.

This is just another reason I love capital one and they get a good chunk of my spend. You never hear of this happening with them. I have my barclaycard rewards but I don't use it for to much. The categories aren't all that great. I was happy to be approved with them as I want to have good relationships with all the majors but I would never carry a balance on their cards.
Let us know what the results of recon on OP.
I have to agree with you Jeff. When my husband found himself in financial troubles a few years back Cap 1 stuck with him. They never decreased his limit or threaten to close his accounts. It's like they compartmentalized focusing solely on his account and history with them. He definitely appreciated it.

In the past, lots of folks liked to 'hate' on Capital One - not just here, but other boards as well - but I have to say, Capital One stood by me when times were tough, and now that times are better they have been more than generous as well. I don't know if it's because of the length of time I've been with them that they are 'comfortable' with me, or if I'm just 'comfortable' with them (both?) but they are like 'Old Faithful' - I know their card will always just work. I don't have to worry about a surprise CLD hitting me at a restaurant, I don't have to worry about setting off a fraud alert when I use it out of town, and I don't have to be concerned with using only a small portion of my credit line to "keep them happy"... they don't play games.
