Hey everyone. Been away for a while, and glancing at all the posts I see I have a lot to catch up on. I did a quick search and did not see anything posted on this.
Wanted to share a promotion I received today while on the phone with Barclaycard:
Barclaycard Arrival MC 3% cash-back on all purchases through September 30th, 2017, up to $2,000 (or $2,500) spent.
This came up after I was verified, and it was an automated message. I followed the prompts to accept it, and listened to all the disclosures. I was expecting an email with all the info, but the automated system stated that the information is available in the packet I should have received; I did not receive anything. This promotion is valid from July 1 to September 30th and I would have loved to enroll earlier since I was out of the country and 3% cash-back with no FT would have been nice.
I sent them a secure message to give me more details, so if anyone would like any additional information, I will be sure to post more once I get a response. I know not many people probably have this card, but good luck getting the promo if you do; also, if it has been discussed already, let me know and I will delete the post.

That is a good promo. Probably specific to you though as I have received nothing about this.

Have you tried calling in? I did not receive anything about it in the mail either (just a bunch of BT offers). I got this through the automated system. If you have time, call in and put your information in; this offer, if you have it, will be mentioned prior to you reaching an operator.
I believe I got the same promo on my Barclay Arrival card. IIRC, it was 2 bonus points for each dollar spent. I already have a 3% cash-back card, so this would be no great deal for me, but I did have about 1500 points stranded on this card. This promo allowed me to spend a few hundred on this card (including $25 as partial payment on a hotel room) to get up to a redeemable level to redeem those stranded points.
Chris.

And with 5% of points back, there will always be something left stranded on this card.

Yeah Chris, this card always has some points stranded on it lol. I don't even remember what card I started out with Barclaycard, but I got PCd to Arrival due to it being a MC and having no transaction fee (good for Europe given my Visa lineup and I guess some sentimental value, since it was one of my first cards that started out at $250 CL).
What do you use as your 3% CB? Must be USAA, right?

You got that right! Just logging in and seeing unredeemed points makes you wanna make something of it. Since it's gonna be my only 3% CB I might actually put it to good use.
Has anyone seen this promotion offered via the Barclaycard website? I didn't see any mention of it online. I tried calling the Barclaycard CS number but didn't receive any automated notice of the promotion either. I have the Arrival Plus MC; perhaps this deal is only available for Arrival card holders??

Nope, Alliant Credit Union. It's only for the first year and then it drops to 2.5% and the annual fee kicks in, so I'll probably downgrade it then and go back to a 2% card as my base card, overridden whenever I have a bonus to spend for.
I realize I'll still have points stranded on the Arrival after this promo, but it will only be 500 points, not 1500. And if I end up losing that 500 points eventually, that's OK; I'll still have made out on this deal. And if another 3% promo comes along, sure I'll take the bait again, especially if I'm down to 2% otherwise, because this would be just over 3% after recapturing those 500 stranded points.
Chris.
I believe this is the type of promo that is targetted to specific cardholders. What the specific parameters are to get the promo are always a mystery.
Chris.
