Barclays Combining CL?

I have a Barclays Finincing Visa that ive had since Sepember of 2011. My CL is about 3k, and i was just approved for a Barlays Arrival Platimum MC with a 1k CL.

Can these 2 credit limits be combined? And is it worth it to wait until i get a CLI to 2k on my Arrival card before i ask for them to combine them so they can change my card to a WMC?

You can call and ask for them to combine it now, or you can ask for a CLI.

If you want it switched over to a WMC, you have to do it within a period of time after approval. Otherwise, you will most likely be stuck with Plat MC even if your CL exceeds 5k in the future. Kinda a weird thing going on with Barclays.

Would i still keep the age of the account? I'm pretty sure its my 2nd oldest account.

And do you think its a stretch for them to approve a CLI after combining?

Also, is this a "backdoor" type request or can i just call the regular number on the back of the card?

IIRC they will only combine the Barclay finc. with Barclay rewards card not arrival

I got some information from the Barclays credit department

1. They will combine the available credit from the Apple card to the Arrival card

2. After you are issued a particular card you can not change that card to something else. ie. Platinum MC to World MC

3. after a HP Barclays doesnt need to pull your credit again for up to 30 days. So take advantage and ask for CLI's

They upped my Arrival credit limit to $3000 (from $1000) and ater combining $2500 from my apple card i will have a $5500 limit. but its still a Platinum MC...

brcamacho, I'm not sure yet what to do. I have a balance on my apple card so im going to pay that off first, but I was going to keep $500 on the apple card and transfer the rest to the arrival. They said i can call back when I'm ready to transfer

Please update us on what you end up doing. I have the same 2 cards and i was thinking about just ditching the apple and moving everything to the rewards if they will let me.

Just wanted to update the thread. I called the backdoor number and was able to move most of my credit line form my apple Visa card to my rewards card.

Took less then 2 minutes.
