@Anonymous wrote:Sorry this happened to you. Would you mind sharing how many new accounts & HPs you recently collected? They won’t let me in with my HP collection, but they did just recently give DH an Uber Card. He then appd for two credit union cards also pulling TU afterwards.
The only new account reporting during the past 4 months is the TD Bank Business Credit Card, which reports to personal credit.
I don't know about HP's, but I would guess 5 or 6 during December.

I had 4 cards, LL Bean, JetBlue, Cashforward, and Ring.
I used the Ring for balance transfers mostly.
I used the LL Bean, Cashforward, and JetBlue for purchases, regularly, but modestly.
Recently (a) I consolidated the Cashforward and the LL Bean card into just the LL Bean card, and
(b) accepted the 0% balance transfer offers made to me on the JetBlue and LL Bean cards.
What was your total exposure/CL with them? I was almost ready to take a HP with them the other day to CLI my 3 y/o Rewards M/C up from $6750--but held off because they are just way too unpredictable with their AA strikes.

It varied month to month and throughout the month but on average 50% with Ring and 5% with the others.

I would not be surprised if my calling to consolidate the Cashforward card into the Bean card was what precipitated this. Knowing how weird they are, I've generally followed a policy of staying off their radar.
So yes it's probably not a bad idea to stay far away from them ![]()

Sorry to hear about unfair and unjust AA you encountered from Barclays there SJ
As you had mentioned and on the bright side though, you already have better cards than them, so you should be all set and don't even have to worry about dealing with Barclays anymore. I know that you will miss the Ring card in particular...my genuine sympathies for you there...

Sorry-I meant what was your total dollarwise exposure? Yes-their weird ways are also the reason I've limited myself to only one card with them (which was a pre-selected offer I accepted a few years ago) and never tried to push for a really high CL. That way if they ever decided to bail on me I have at least 35 others from various lenders and there's no loss of sweat.

I say good riddance! Even if you were to get your accounts re-instated, are you willing to take the chance that they won't get spooked again? Barclays may be good for some people, but not for all. Time to give your business to lenders that work with your style.
Hmmmm. My Ring arrived today -- one of 4 cards to arrive in the past week. ![]()
Used it for an inaugural dinner & drinks. Wonder how many BT's I can make before it's AA'd?
<tick tock, tick tock ... >
It's one sixth of my total available credit but, fortunately, that total is now more than twice what it was a month ago (and any one of my six other cards likely offers all the credit that I truly require). ![]()
Wonder if they'll get spooked when my HELoan with TD reports? (I kid you not.

I got 550 dollars cash and a 60k American Airline miles from them. Try getting that from a bucket of poo.
