Barclays closed my Ring MC yesterday for inactivity - 1 purchase every 6 mos. wasn't enough for them

Barclays closed my Ring MC yesterday for inactivity - apparently me making 1 purchase every 6 mos. wasn't enough for them  Smiley Sad

To be fair, they did sent me a warning letter of closure if I didn't use the card.  I did make 1 purchase before closeout but it looks like they may have wanted more activity on my end than just a single purchase, since when I reminded them of that one purchase they simply repeated their mantra of "it was closed for inactivity", like reading from a script.  I further asked them if they could posssibly reopen it fwiw, but they said (verbatim) "once closed, always closed".  Not a total catastrophic loss for me, since I have cards with better rewards and better non-promo APRs, but since the Ring card was closed for new applicants and grandfathered for existing cardholders, I can't make a new app for a new version of it.  One of the cool things about the Ring card was BT fees or cash advance fees, iirc.

Former cards:
DMB Titanium MC @ 90-day, 0% grace period | $4k BEFCU MC @ 5.49% F | $21.9k Citi DPR @ 5.99% F | Chase Platinum MC @ Prime+1.67%

It's surprising they'd close your account after only 6 months of inactivity, with most creditors I've seen reported it's 1 year or so.

Barclay keeps downgrading my credit limit due to low activity. I have basically given up on that card. I have one subscription on it that I'll move to another card and then put that thing in the sock drawer until they close it.
