A couple of years ago, I called Barclays hoping to do a product change since the B&N MC rewards didn't work for me anymore.
Was told it was impossible.
Since then, I only use the card to keep it active, about 3-4 times a year.
Does anyone know if it's possible to do a product change these days? Would rather not call if it's pointless.

I have PC'd like crazy with Barclay started with:
Barclay Rewards MC and added a Apple Visa.
Used Apple Visa for an iMac then PC'd to a Rewards Visa.
PC'd Barclay rewards to Arrival MC.
All of these with no problem or question whatsoever.
When did you do all these PC's?
When I called (again, this was a few years ago) they were very adamant about not allowing product changes

I would definitely call again. I just got the Rewards MC PC'd the week before last and the Apple to Rewards Visa was about 3 months ago give or take.

How long had you had Barclay rewards before PCing it to Arrival MC? & What was your usage, uti, etc. like?

1 year and 3 months on that card.
Usage was pretty high at first purchased a few plane tickets and larger items on it (started at a $1300 limit). I paid in full most months, sometimes carried a balance but never went over about 20% util reporting. They auto CLI'd the card after 6 months up to $2600, then I started using my Discover card for everything. Barclay didnt see more than a tank of gas a month for probably 6 months or so.
Great, thanks for info. I'm about 10 months behind you with the same $1300 CL right now.
OP, PCing your card may be worth a try....

No problem at all.
My CL moved pretty fast with Barclay, I did take a HP to go from $2600 to $5000 though because I did some credit line moving when I bought my iMac on a Barclay Apple Visa. I started at $2000 between two cards and now I'm at 7k I'm happy with that.
OP how long have you had your Barclay account?

Since 2009.
My CL is 7.5K.
In the first few years, they'd do increases every 6 months. But since I stopped using them, except for the occasional small purchase, they stopped doing increases. They love to see usage, a lot of it.
Anyway, my card now offers no usuable rewards. Only reason I still have it is because it's 5 years old. Pointless to close the account.
Thanks for the info. Will try calling tomorrow.

Dont forget to tell them just that, you really enjoyed the card and its benefits but you've outgrown them. From what I'm seeing you should have no problem PC'ing that card to a Rewards MC at the very minimum. Just mention you like using the card and would like to make Barclay your go to card fror things like gas and groceries. This is what I said when getting rid of my Apple Visa and they had no problem doing it.
Good luck and let us know, I dont think youll have any issue.
