Best Buy has perturbed me!

I had a credit balance of 35 cents on my account at the end of the statement. BB made a "small balance adjustment" and basically stole my 35 cents. As I told them in my email; if they will steal a small amount, I will expect them to steal a larger amount. No answer from them but I expect it to be some irrelevant canned response from their foreign diplomats.

I am seriously considering blacklisting them as a vendor.

Re: Best Buy has perturbed me!

would you rather them mail you a statement w/a bill for the other 6 cents it cost for postage?

Re: Best Buy has perturbed me!

It's the principle, Ducky. Just like you and AMEX. LOL. If I was past due for 35 cents, they wouldn't think twice about posting a late and reporting me to CRA's. All my other accounts allow cr bal, some for months. This just occurred within the statement period.

Maybe I'm just too crabby in my old age.

Re: Best Buy has perturbed me!

I'm with you Contractor! You should definitely complain. That's stealing.

How would they like it if you didn't pay a .35 balance? They would send you to collections.

Re: Best Buy has perturbed me!

I once owe a 12 cent balance at the end of the statement date, and CapitalOne did an adjustment in my favoriteSmiley Winkand just deleted it. Guess it was cheaper then the postage.

Re: Best Buy has perturbed me!

WaMu also graciously "forgave" my 22 cent balance when I first got the RealRewards MC.  In order to get 0% on purchases for 21 months, I had to BT at least $100 with the application, so I did that and then PIFfed it as soon as it posted.

Since there is no grace period on BTs, of course it started accruing interest immediately.  From the time the BT hit until the time my payment posted, I had apparently accumulated 22 cents in finance charges.

My first statement cut with a $0 balance, but there was a 22 cent credit for "small balance adjustment."

Hmmm. I have a $26 credit on one of my hsbc cards. I expect it to stay there until I use it.
