No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
Also, I've read and heard from others in various groups that the the Discover, Upgrade, and some other cash back debits (can't remember at moment) don't give cash back on credit card payments.
Amex debit does not work at all for CC or loan payments, as many places still read it as a credit transaction due to the payment network.
I think the Kasasa rewards CU variant debits work.

For examble, the Discoverer cash back debit card is capped at $3000k/month I think and you cannot use it on Paypal bill pay and get cash back.
$3000K a month (i.e. $3M) should be more than enough!
$3000 in spend, $30 in cashback
@Wu-Credit wrote:Like some others, I use the Affinity to pay my CCs that are still on PayPal bill pay and I get and extra 1% up to $1000 in payments per statement cycle ($10 cash back).
I just recently picked up the Coinbase card and will report back on that one. Thanks to those who mentioned it.
Update: Coinbase rewards did not trigger when paying my CC through PayPal bill pay.

Coinbase debit card (nerfed) used to give 4% in XLM which I converted to cash ASAP.
I am able to pay both of my Citi cards with debit cards through phone.
Has anyone tried paying Citi cards with Visa gift cards?
If you want an alternative way to use debit cards to pay Citi, you could use PayPal bill pay.
Update: Here are my DPs on which cash back debits worked for me when given the option to use debit for paying CCs by phone or online/PayPal Bill Pay.
Affinity CB Debit - counts 1% CB when I pay my CCs on PP BP, Citi by phone
Axos CB Debit - counts 0.5% CB same as above (I was surprised at end of statement cycle last month, was not expected)
Primis Perks Debit - counts 50 cents CB per transaction, same as above
Coinbase Debit - does not count CB for paying CCs on PP BP or anything PP for that matter. I have not yet tried paying Citi by phone but have seen a DP here that it works that way for paying other financial institution loans.
Crypto.com Debit - nothing financial institution related counts for CB (boooo!)
Upgrade Debit - also nothing financial institution related counted for CB last time I had one
I know there are others like Discover CB Debit, Amex Rewards Checking (doubt it works because Amex network reads as credit? still?), Quontic Cash Rewards Checking, and various CUs that have CB debit options I have yet to try. Please share your DPs if you have tried these, thank you!
Edit: Chartway CU has a 3% CB debit up to 10$ back per month with qualifications (also a $200 new account promo). I was denied for too many chex inquiries. Does anyone have this debit card who can share DPs?
Great info W-C, thanks for sharing.
@ptatohed you're welcome! I just added an edit.
How much time did you wait between opening both checking accounts? Where are you calling? Affinity or Citi? Which financial institutions have you successfully paid with the Affinity debit card?
I was looking into axos bank.
Earn up to 1.00% cash back on signature-based transaction purchases. Earn up to $2,000.00 per month in cash back on your signature-based transactions. Maintain a $1,500.00 average daily collected balance to earn 1.00% cash back on signature-based transaction purchases.
So there's a potential of earning 20 bucks a month. If you don't have 1,500 it drops it down to 0.5.

The problem I have with CC/Debit cards like this is, by keeping that $1500 in there at near 0% all year, you are missing out on $75/yr had you placed the $1500 in a 5% HYSA.
Now with AOD being nerfed, I considered the Affinity 2.5% but, again, I'd have to keep $1000 at 0.25%, costing me $47.50/yr.
