Best way to cancel Credit One

Hi
I have two Credit one accounts that I've had open for about 3 years. If I want to close the account will calling suffice or should I write a letter?
I have PIF payments pending on both so it'll be maybe a week until they both show a zero balance.
If I call today will they send me a final bill or should I wait?

Wait until your balance is zero. Then call.

I'd also recommend asking them to send you a letter confirming your account is closed and has a balance of zero.

Good luck.

Re: Best way to cancel Credit One

1) Once statement cuts, immediately pay total balance (if higher than $0).
2) Once the payment posts or account shows $0 online, print the page.
3) Contact Credit One via phone to confirm $0 balance--get name of representative.
4) Fax or mail (with shipping and/or signature confirmation) a request to immediately close the account. Include the reps name who confirmed the $0 and date of confirmation in the request letter. Additionally request written confirmation that your account was closed and reported to the CRA's as "Account Closed At Consumer's Request." Attach a copy of the printed document showing the $0 balance.
4) Let out a big sigh of relief. LOL

Dear Sirs:

First, I’d like to thank Credit One Bank as I am most appreciative of your outstanding service and the opportunity Credit One Bank provided me in effort to build and strengthen my consumer credit profile. I must say, my experience with your institution has truly been a pleasure.

Second, I feel that I have successfully achieved my financial goals through the use of the wonderful service you provided. Therefore, I wish to close my credit card account with Credit One Bank. In addition to the refund of my secured deposit in the amount of $500.00, I am requesting that my credit reports reflect that this account was ‘Closed at the Consumer’s Request.’ I am further requesting written confirmation of the account’s closure. My records indicate that my current balance is $0.00--being the same information provided on 06/26/2016 by Credit One Bank Online Customer Access. For your reference, I have enclosed written documentation with regard to current secured deposit amount, current account balance, and current payment information on my account.

Should you have any questions regarding my request, please feel free to contact me at:

Once you do have this taken care of, you'll be glad that you did in the long run, based on their past history.

TTA, follow SOGGIE'S  instructions to the "T."  I understand Credit One is one of the terrible ones, so protect your back from them.  You are smart for asking on here.  Good luckj!
