Better Growth Potential Card.

Which card has better growth potential? Cap One QS with a limit of 300 or Discover Secured with a limit of 200? I am thinking Discover would despite it being a secured card. I was just approved for Discover secured yesterday but didn't fund it yet. Any thoughts.

Discover in the long run.  300 Cap one cards are usually bucketed  and do not grow very much.

Discover will grow much quicker. Also, with being a DD, once unsecured, you'll get 5% CB. Also, after a year - you can apply for another Discover card and usually combine both cards into one. Most of the time that I have noticed - the second card usually has a pretty good CL.

Re: Better Growth Potential Card.

Easily Discover. Mine graduated after my 7th statement this month. I've had a secured CapOne card for 16 months that hasn't graduated yet. I've had another CapOne for 2+ years that graduated within the first year but hasn't gone past $600 CL.

Currently rebuilding:
1/18 -
7/19 -

Re: Better Growth Potential Card.

Thought so. I am going to give Discover a 200 deposit then increase it to 400 after 3 months ect. I am aware that Discover can graduate after 8 months but is Discover "graduation" not only based on how you handle your Discover card but also your overall credit profile.

Also, with Discover, can I charge say 150 a week , pay in full every Friday, then make sure the balance is zero or very close to it before the statement cuts. Or would they rather just see low utization of the card, ie: 60 dollars a month just pay that in full each month.

Thanks for the replies.
