Came home today to a Black Card Mastercard Invitation for mom. I was so exicted like do you know how people actually get these in the mail. She looked at me and said "shred it". I think the APR she was offered was 16.99 and there APR online is 16.74. Hmmm interesting. But she is in love with her Flagship Card has a 30K limit and 11.99%. So I guess I cant be but so mad.
She probably read about benefits before shredding it, which would make it correct course of action.
Have you looked at the absurd AF for it? It's a generic MC that doesn't offer much.
Why were you so excited? It's generally considered one of the worst values among ~$500 AF cards (unless someone complains about the AF and gets it waived).
Maybe you're confusing it with the actually-hard-to-get Amex Centurion?

Nah, they are just jealous of OP's mother!
All the naysayers are forgetting:
Cardmembers receive LUXURY MAGAZINE, the exclusive quarterly publication covering a broad range of categories–including travel, fashion, real estate, vehicles and technology. Each issue showcases an artist’s work as the cover art, making it a limited-edition collector’s item.

That must be worth, what, 10c per year?
To maximize the confusion between Amex and Black Card, maybe Barclays should have gone with "Arrivals" for the magazine name (vs. Amex's "Departures"). Not sure if their existing Arrival CC trademark would cover it, though.

And you can meet Mastercard Golf Ambassadors. Had I known that ...
Listen to your mother.
