Ask for whatever you would be comfortable with having for a credit line. There's no cap if your profile and income support it. Last one we did in my house, DW asked to go from $60k to $100k and they countered with $70k. Expect a hard pull on TransUnion unless they have done a credit pull for another reason in the past 30 days.

Are you saying next time I app for a new account, I can also request a CLI and it won't be another HP? BoA pulls EX for me on new card apps.
Yes. If they have pulled EX for a new line, you can usually ask for a CLI (or CLIs depending on how many cards you have) without a new pull. The same also works in reverse, if you ask for a CLI you can generally apply for a new product without an additional pull.
I have done both several times in the past year. One good thing to keep in mind is that BOA can and will automatically reallocate credit lines. I got a CLI to $34,600 on my BankAmericard then the pop up came for the Cash Rewards card and I took them up on it. They took $6k of that CLI back to open a new $7500 card. A few months ago, I opened the Premium Rewards card and they took $21k from my Travel Rewards card to open it, but then I asked for a CLI on the BankAmericard (got $33.6k) and my Travel Rewards (got $12.9k). I am at $75k total + AU on DW’s $70k card; not sure if they count that or not. Hoping to hit $100k+ in the summer and do some account combinations.

I requested ~11x last month and they countered at ~3x. I've not seen any definitive data points that you'll get a better counter with a more, um, reasonable request, so I went big like most recommend
