BofA New Card NIGHTMARE !

So I was approved for the BofA Rewards card a few weeks ago .. 10k SL. Scores all above 710-720 now.

Was using the card no issue for several days, then boom -- blocked. Called into the # listed in the app, first rep said I had to go in a branch then hung up on me. At the time, I was near a branch so went in, cleared it and no issue. Fast forward a week, and frozen AGAIN. The phone reps (x3) unfroze the card, and it worked each time but within an hour was RE BLOCKED! Now they are saying AGAIN to go into a branch and I am nowhere near one (not to mention my work hours do not permit for any branch hours!). They will not close the card, and I can't even make a payment in the app ! Luckily no payment is due for awhile, but I have never seen anything like this. 

Anyone who has gone through this please chime in ! I am shocked that 3 reps would unfreeze it via phone (even after a previous rep stated I had to go in branch, call center roulette as we all know) but after each use the card is blocked again !  I have heard calling in via the app itself sometimes helps this clear, but I wanted to check in here too first !

 Can push a payment.  Not sure what is really going on with your acct.  I have no issue with my cars ever from ofA for fairly big purchases as well.  I would suggest trying to get to the bottom of if as if new account you already took the hP and new account hit.  Something has them concerned obviously what it is I have no idea.

Thnak you -- I think I have it ifgured out, the first few purchases were PayPal sending money to a family member and I think that triggered this all. Regardless, a needless mess and I have been verified a million ways to SUNDAY !

Yep that would certainly likely cause them to raise an eyebrow or any issuer really.  Glad you figured out the cause.

Yes sir ! Now to get it fixed !! 3 unblocks and re-blocks so BofA seems extrmeely sensitive !

To an individual yes it would be coded as a cash advance.

To an individual yes it would be coded as a cash advance.

Is what makes it an individual the type of  receiving paypal account?   I have both types.   So, MyFico, please, just for science, try sending me money to my business paypal at [deleted by the deep state] and see if it's a cash advance or not.

Yes folks I now know sending $ via Friends and Family is a cahs advance -- use Goods and Services and it wont be !!!
