@UH_HUH wrote:Hiya Guys,
So about two weeks ago I got an email
from BB&T saying they would be mailing out new cards,
some time in the near future, for all cards that have been
used in the last year.Well I was issued 13 cards from what is now
Truist and have only paid
on one travel card with an AF. I cancelled 2 other travel cards.
Well Since I have never used the other 10 cards I figured I had better
find a way to get my new Truist Cards somehow.
I decided to call them up and say I wanted all new ones
and said they were damaged.
I was on hold for 15 mins then got this wonderful
rep who actually said "you want to replace how many cards?"
After she put me on hold and had a talk with her supervisor,
she came back and one after one I rattled off the last 4 digits
of the card and the credit limit. We did this 11 times and she could not have been
any nicer. I was kinda wondering what this call would be like but it was easy.
If you want the new spiffy silver Truist cards I can
honestly sat they were wonderful.
Hope everyone is well :-)
Cheers
Just for the record, I would have asked you "How did your card get damaged?" 11 times! 😂😉
That's awesome though. Let us know his goes when you get them. I had been thinking about the replacement card route myself, but I wondered would just get another BB&T with it being so soon.
I'll probably do the same thing if you get the new ones!
Anyone get a new Truist credit card approval ?
Is the Premium $196 card metal ?

@TMJ1974 is the person I've seen that applied for a new Truist card so far.

The call was long enough without that question @JNA1 :-)
I actually told her I wanted the newer cards and she said "oh ok"
Well I got 8 of the replacements in the mail today and all the same
as before. I was actually surprised I had travel cards in there....
I just have everything on auto pay. Guess we will see if the next three are different.
thanks for the post,
Hope you and the wife are fine :-)
Cheers

That stinks! I was hoping to see a bunch of shiny, sparkly, silver and purple cards! 😔
Thanks for this though. I'll just hold off a bit before doing the same. I had been waiting because I figured there might the chance they'd use up the old cards first.
Doing
I'll be sure to share with everyone, once the card finally arrives. I was approved last Tuesday, and they've already billed the $195, but no card yet. In fact, everything with my banking switch to Truist seems to be going horribly slow. But, that's not why we're here :-)

So, I finally received the card, and it is metal. Well, plastic/metal sandwich like many of the others. Very similar weight/feel as the Citi Prestige. Nice feel to it honestly.
Truist seems to have eased up on the geo restrictions. I was a BB&T customer, now living in NY and was just approved for an Enjoy Cash Secured.
You may face a more difficult time OOS if you're not currently a Truist client though.
So I just got off the phone with Truist customer service, and I'm still not sure what I heard. I have six BB&T cards, one of which is the Travel Rewards that comes with an $89 annual fee. It will be two years old next month, and I rarely use it. I paid the AF last year because I wanted to see what would happen with the Truist migration.
Since they've announced the Beyond Travel with no AF, I called to see if the fee would still be charged or it would pick up the new structure.
The credit analyst (?) told me that they could waive the fee, but I would have to close the card first. Ummm, that doesn't make sense. I rephrased what she told me, and she said yes, they would just credit the amount to my balance. I don't CARRY a balance, and don't want to close the card. She said that's the only way they could do it. So I guess the legacy cards will keep their existing fee and reward structures, and I'll be closing the card anyway before the fee is charged (no need to wait for a "waiver" that's actually a "refund"). Oh well.
