CAP1 OR BoA

I went to their website and did the pre-qualified thing. Cap1 offered me a QS MC with AF $39, and BoA offered me their Travel and Cashback credit card. So I'm wondering which card should I go for? or maybe I should just stay in the garden for now. I app for Sallie Mae not too long ago. HAHa

Re: CAP1 OR BoA

Actually, I'd stay in the garden. Stay far FAR away from the QS1.

You might have a shot at a Venture with your EQ FICO.

Yeah, I was thinking of just staying in the garden and plant more trees Smiley Happy. I've seen a lot of people who has that, but if I apply I want a higher score just so my APR would be lower.

Re: CAP1 OR BoA

QS1 comes in only one flavor with one APR. I think of it as candy corn (yuck)

Definitely garden and your reward will be larger limits and lower APRs.

Re: CAP1 OR BoA

The new BOA site misleads people into thinking they are pre-approved, so take that one with caution.
You would certainly get an approval from Cap One, possibly even for the no AF QS or Venture with what would be your highest limit overall.
At this point, I think you should garden until at least August or September when all of your inquiries hit 6 months. Between now and then keep checking for some SP CLI's.
At that point, your scores should jump up enough that you may have plenty more options and you can evaluate what you can do.

So basically, you have a good shot of getting a nice line from Cap One today, but it's probably best to garden.

Re: CAP1 OR BoA

It looks like your last credit app was around a week ago. How many INQs do you have on each credit report?

But in general, I'd much rather have a useful card with no AF (the BoA cards) than a high APR card with an AF (the QS1). So the choice for me would be the BoA card. But if you have a lot of INQs and new accounts, I'd hold off on applying if I were you.

Re: CAP1 OR BoA

Pfft, go for the Venture.  I got $10k instant with high 600's/700 and same INQ's and no Pre-Qual.  You're a shoe in.  One more won't hurt.

Let us know how it went.
