Cap1 just offered me a PC for my MC Platinum card to a QS1. The only difference is, I will earn 1.5% on purchases. I will still have an AF of $59 and no CLI. Should I take it?
About the AF, this was an old household bank account that converted over to CAP1 when they were bought out. I asked to get it waived before and they said they can't remove it. However, I think I can get it reduced or removed if I switch over to the QS1 MC. Also, I already have their QS Visa card, no AF and a $6K limit.
If you want the cash back yes in my opinion... Capital One has automatically refunded my annual fee on even my secured card just from using it. If you use the card on a regular basis it has been my experience (and that of a friend of mine) that they will always refund the annual fee either by asking or in most cases automatically. I even took out a cash advance one time and they charged 10.00 and auto removed the fee for the cash advance as well. It seems to me to be all about utilization of the card.

I do use that card monthly and PIF monthly too. However, I wasn't diong that before this forum, which can explain why the AF was'st refunded. Thanks so much.
I am going to switch now ![]()

Thank you so much!! I do frequently use it and PIF monthly. I wasn't doing that before this forum, which is prob why they never refunded. I'm going to switch now.
Take the PC and request for the AF to be removed through the EO OR take the PC wait 6 mths and request a PC to a regular QuickSilver card without the AF.
I took the PC thank you guys. Now I can finally get rewards for my purchases. I do use the card to buy gas and PIF monthly. Wasn't doing that before this forum, I use to carry a balance (a high one too, I know better now). Thanks again.
it's a no brainer..who wouldn't want 1.5% back when you were receiving 0% back?
not trying to be an a$$, but if they both have the same fees n whatnot, it wouldn't hurt..all 3 of my capital one cards are @ 1.5%..you don't have to really 'switch' to QS1, just have them apply the rewards to whatever account you want..
this number workds wonders: 800-955-1455
LOL excuse me because I am new to this and learning...Thanks
