I didn't get an increase when I pressed the luv button. I have been using that card for 75% of my charges on the road excpet where the 5% from Discover/Chase come in to play. I have to make 2-3 payments a month because the 2K limit. Well with their decision it will live in the safe and pay netflix monthly. I will give my luv to Chase/Discover and hopefully they see the writing on the wall. Im looking for heavy usage CLI here.
Up to you but for me I would use the card that gives me most in return.... so 1,5% is better than1% at least for me
..... SD Cap1 will probably not bring any better results as they like usage.
Same thing happened to me today. Have been using it pretty regularly and a 5K limit is **bleep**. I PIF every month. I've been putting a lot through it for past 6 months and a CLI was a no-go.

I closed both of my CapOne cards last year.
Don't miss them at all.

I may be a grain of salt in the ocean to them but was pretty loyal and didnt appreciate the no go on CLI. They were my first card so I wont close them but untill my feeling aint hurt no moreI'm going to butter up to Discover.
Do you PIF before statement with 0 balance reporting or do you let balances report on the Cap1 card? If you do the 0 balance reporting game I would suggest to stop this and give it 6 months and try again.
edit: I got my 2 CLIs on Cap1 as soon as I did no longer report the 0 balance. The same for Discover. CLIs got approved as soon as I used the CCs the "normal" way.

I do PIF. I PIF because I do not want a balance reporting to the credit bureaus if possible. I do not want to pay interest on any CC if I do not have too. The reason i am not using my NFCU right now is I have $2800 on there I am paying down.
Why is PIF bad? In this case CAP1 knows exactly what I spend and how I use the card.

What kind of balance did you let report? % of limit wise?

Not that much...about 20-30% of the CL at that time and this was also the normal use without multiple payments ...just used them and let the statement cut normally and paid in full after statement cut....and to my surprise Cap1 gave me CLI twice with the luv button and Discover even three times and all with SP. Discover starting limit was 2,5K and this limit I kept for 15months but then all the sudden the CLIs got approved and within 6 months from 2,5K to 10K with the luv button in incrediments of 2,5K. Now I am set with the limit on all my cards. Maybe it was coincidence but a few statements after I stopped this 0 balance reporting game the CLIs started to come in for me.
