So I was recently denied for an app for Citi TY and just recieved the letter. It states denial due to no revolving accounts with a balance and too many credit inquires. On the bottom of the letter was a statement "Action is required for your application to be reconsidered". Huh? So I decided to call the backdoor. The rep pretty much reiterated what the letter said. I explained to the rep that some of the inq's were from when I had applied for a car loan back in Dec and just recently refinanced my car. She told me I can send in a new report, with an account showing a balance, to their Correspondance Dept and they would review my report to re-consider my application. ME send in a copy of my report? What? No HP from them? I don't think I've ever heard, or read, of that!!
So I will print out my report on Monday, as one of my cc's will report a balance this month. I let it report but kept my utility under 9% to see what it will do to my score. She said to give them 2-3 days and call back to get their decision. I already took a HP so why not!
Anyone heard of this?
They will still pull your report again. I don't know why Citi has people send in reports. Good luck on recon
