DH is planning on moving to the US so he's starting his credit from scratch. In December 2012, he got a BofA secured card for $500. Utilization has been pretty low, and always paid in full. Today he noticed that he had the option for requesting a CLI online. We're not sure what to do since he has such a young history. I added him as an AU onto one of my other cards with a 9-10 year history, but I'm not sure how/if that will be a factor.
We can't pull his credit report because he doesn't have a SSN. He's also planning on getting a car loan once he moves here (with me as cosigner), so we want to make any risky moves. Thoughts on next step? Should we go for the CLI/call for early graduation/wait it out? Thanks!
I've been learning a lot lately, but I honestly don't feel qualified to answer the question. I can however ask what general area you're moving to in the US, and say warm welcome! We're crazy here, but it's fun ![]()
