Why do you say "no wonder"? The first one is the number that so many people have reported success with. I will try this new number tomorrow because the first one has shot me down each time I called but I'd like to hear an opinion from someone here on the difference.

I was going to say the same. I have never seen the 877-513-9959 number referenced in the forum, just the one I used.

Right, others here have gotten cli's from that number..I was pointing out that some time ago the other number came on the scene and has done me and some others wonder..Personally, the first number never done anything for me..I guess it is a YMMV situation..

Re: CLI's with Backdoor Numbers

I do appreciate the info.  I am over trying to ask for CLI's now (my feelings are hurt).  I will try this number in a month and see what happens.

I am not trying to be negative by any means.  If people are using them to get a native English speaker ... cool.  My point is, there seems to be the misconception that they can do more for you. I have called two to three times per month since December and have received the same response: we can't do any more for you (including a manual review) than the front line reps. Both lines have the same abilities.

You are negative by any means.

This is not the first time when such discriminating   "opinions" appear on this board, which makes me bery sad.

Hopefully my English is understandable.

Re: CLI's with Backdoor Numbers

I apologize if I offended you in any way.  I was repeating what someone said earlier in the post. However, that being said, there are some definite communication issues when dealing with companies who have placed their call centers overseas. That is the reality of the situation - nothing discriminatory. It also falls in the reverse - those who speak English as a second, third or fourth language may also have trouble understanding us because we speak more quickly.

Again my sincere apologies.

Re: CLI's with Backdoor Numbers

Consider your credit report and charge/payment information as well as your income and the thousand other factors that are involved in making a decision about how credit worthy you are as your individual tea leaves.

Today your Tea Leaves say "Geeze, it's looking like your a better risk than you were yesterday"
The front line CSR's simply aren't as good or experienced at reading your Tea Leaves.
The back door CSR's generally have been doing the job longer, have a bit more authority, and more experience in reading your Tea Leaves.

Now comes the call to the back door.  The Back Door rep sees the same thing the front door rep sees.  But the back door rep also sees that your taking less sugar in your tea then you used to, and thats a pretty good indicator that you've lowered your risk for diabetes, and that makes you a better risk for paying back another 500.00 on your credit line.

Woo Hoo the back door rep gives you a CLI.

5 minutes later feeling all puffed up cause you got a positive result for the small amount of work involved in calling a different number you try again with the next card.

Again another call to a back door number and another more experienced CSR.
However this time the CSR notices that even tho your using less sugar in your tea you have also changed from Chai to Lipton, and the sodium content is triple.  So while your risk for diabetes has been reduced your chances of dropping dead of a stroke caused by higher blood pressure have increased and therefore your not quite as good a risk as you were last week when you called them.
No luv for you.

The moral of the story.....  Just because it didn't work for you yet doesn't mean it won't work in the future, and just because it works for someone else every time doesn't mean it'll work for you ever.
It's just another tool in the toolbox from people who are trying to help you out by giving you as much information as they can.

There are so many factors involved in deciding wether or not, and how much and what type of credit to give anyone that it's impossible to make a blanket statement that something works everytime.  It's a combination of efforts that improve your credit picture.
Keep trying, and just because one way does not work for you at this moment in time does not mean it won't in the future.

Forgive the long winded post.  I hope you get what I am trying to say here.
