FYI...I wrote a secure message to Chase to see where I was in my account opening spend a few weeks ago and they responded giving me the $ and the date I needed to spend by. Here's the interesting part. The last day they gave me was beyond the 3 month mark; it was a whole month extra. I called in to confirm and they said the info I was given was correct and that some accounts are given automatic extensions.
Interesting tidbit, thought I'd share!
If my CSP ever decides to show up in my mail box (approved last Friday), I will definitely be giving them a call as well. This is great news!

That's awesome news. Ive been calculating on earth I'll meet the minimum spend.
But just to confirm to everyone that this is not standard. When I called in, the CSR had to speak with his supervisor to confirm this.
Chase typically allows up to 115 days after account opening to meet minimum spend. This is typical for their own cards, not so sure about co-branded cards.
Some other blogs/forums have mentioned this before, that the period you have for the spending requirements is 115 days, and one possible reason is that Chase would consider the time it takes from account opening to mailing the card and having it received by the cardmember.
