CSP eligibility - need help - Update : CSP got approved

Hi agian,

I took my brother to Chase Bank and he applied for CSP ...whooooo instant aproval with $5K CLI. Bank personal manager also requested for a rush card and we expect to recieve the same in two days ... We are so happy. 

Bank personal manager insisted myself as well to apply and he will do his best to get the card approved. However I said, I am in garden now and already have loads of inquires for this year and I was declined for CSP in past 3 or 4 months back. 

Any ways, good luck for my brother and he can travel outside of US with a pease in mind. Thank you guys for your support and help.

Need your expert suggestion. My brother is planning to apply for CSP as He would be traveling more this year. His credit profile is as below:
TU score 765
He have Amex gold, chase freedom(6 months), discover it, Amex Costco and boa credit card.
He applies for all above card in 2013 only except Amex Costco and BoA CC.
His annual income is 70k and no baddies at all.
His oldest CC is 30 months old and newst CC which is discover It is 2 months old.

Can you please tell me what is approval possibility for my brother.

Does he have a credit line at or close to $5k? Regardless, I think he's as good as gold!

He has Chase Freedom 5k, Amex Costco 5k,
Amex blue 9k ... He is very eager to App for cSP ... Hower I am asking him to go slow.

I checked chase CC per-qualification, we did not get any offer for him and I am worried and he is not ...

Please advise ...

Just because he isn't preapproved doesn't mean he'll be denied; just means Chase hasn't been "looking"! Also I noticed I never got the preapproval to work because in my town name, most websites won't let me hyphenate it! In Chases case, they wanted the hyphen!

How many inquires does he have? I still say he has a great chance

If your brother has had a recent app fiesta and opened some new accounts (+ inquiries), it may be kind of trivial but not necessarily impossible - just depends whether this places his approval chances as borderline (which may or may not favor the reconsideration route).  Also, there is a chance an alternate CR may be used.  If his utilization is in check/optimal (i.e. low), then he could give it a shot and try his luck.  Of course, HEMV.

He has a great chance! I just got approved a few weeks ago with a ton of inquiries, especially within the past year and I didn't have any cards at the $5,000 CL yet. Not to mention my score was ranging from 675-680. Everyone's experience is different. But in your brothers case, he seems well qualified for an approval.

@jennylocha what was your AAoA at time of approval? Also what was your highest CL at the time?

@jennylocha did you have a relationship with Chase prior to apping? was the approval instant?

Sound advice from everyone. I'll add that if you have a solid AAoA (maybe at least 5+ yrs), INQ's are usually not going to hurt. Also, the whole waiting 6 mos between apps seems to be case for people rebuilding or those that are new to the credit world. I got my second Chase CC 2 months after my 1st and it was not a recon. Like everything else, YMMV.
