Re: CSP, highest % limit increase

You need to lower your expectations and show more patience. At this point, what you think you should get and what you really will get are very far apart.

It's hard to expect for a lender to give you a 35k limit whom you have no history with, just to match another lender. This is doubly true at that CL level. You'd have better luck applying for 3 Chase cards over a a 2 year period and consolidating all those CLs. The way you're going about it simply won't work.

EX 798, EQ 789, TU 784
American Express Platinum (NPSL) || Bank of America Privileges with Travel Rewards Visa Signature - $23,200 CL
Barclays American Airlines Aviator Red World Elite Mastercard - $20,000 CL || Chase IHG Rewards World Mastercard - $25,000 CL
Chase Sapphire Preferred Visa Signature - $12,700 CL || Chase United MileagePlus Club World Elite MasterCard - $26,500 CL
Citibank Hilton Reserve Visa Signature - $20,000 CL || J.P. Morgan Ritz Carlton Visa Signature - $23,500 CL

thanks for the reality check

I never thought I would actually get the 35k, it would just be more convenient for it to be my main card if I had a 35k CL

Re: CSP, highest % limit increase

gen-specific,

just use it a lot and your CL will go up fast over time. It isn't going to be a 1 or 3 or 6 month thing, but it's going to happen as long as you have the income and CR to warrant such a high CL.

For the time being you could PIF a few times in each billing cycle, so you can effectively use that card a lot more. This is going to be a good reason to explain why you need a CLI a few months down the road as well, because you have proven that you need a higher CL to match your spending each month. By PIF a few times each month it also shows that you basically have the money to repay your debt easily. It's hard to warrant a high CLI for Chase if you dont use the card much.

JPMorgan Palladium (100k), AmEx Platinum (NPSL), AmEx SPG (46k), AmEx BCP (42k), Chase Sapphire Preferred (47k), Citi Prestige (31k), Citi Thank You Preferred (27k), Citi Executive AAdvantage (25k), JPMorgan Ritz-Carlton (21k), Merrill+ (15k), US Bank Cash+ (22.5k), Wells Fargo (12k), Bloomingdale’s (12.4k), Chase Freedom (5k), Discover IT (5k).

UPDATE

so I tried the 6x credit limit increase and will most likely be getting a 4.58x credit limit increase to $27,500  ***solely because the american express 30k limit is not reporting on my credit limit yet Smiley Happy)) the citi 24.9k limit is though****

reported the same amount of income as previously

tl;dr everybody was wrong.

Not everyone. I always say shoot for the stars. Myfico tends to repeat conventional wisdom constantly but sometimes you have to buck it, if you really want something.

I have to say I wouldn't have thought you would have gotten quite that high but I am still shocked how often and how many actually say NOT to ask for so much on increases (ESPECIALLY when we know it's going to be a HP no matter how much you ask for) WHY NOT ask for what you want.... look at this... you will almost ALWAYS end up with more than what you may think you would get because you asked for it... you can only be told no!

Congrats OP, I would have guessed no issue getting $15-$20k btw, so wasn't to surprised until I saw a number above $25k

thanks, yeah not everyone.

I got denied at first so I thought they were right for a while, I'm supposedly in the garden so I was pissed at the hard pull, then I tried the recon number for "credit analyst" who pretty much told me all the exact opposite stuff and told me there was no reason for denial

Re: CSP, highest % limit increase

I got $25,000

that is what my credit limit reports online now.

$6k to $25k

and just a note, this was only because they highest limit they could see was $24,900 on my Citi ThankYou Premiere, and therefore couldn't justify giving me such a higher limit above that, but otherwise they would of. But I didn't want to mention that my AMEX had another $30,000 that wasn't reporting yet haha for obvious reasons being that it might mess up their risk model.
