what i recommend though is to just redeem it as cashback in the form of a check or statement credit.
then buy your items on amazon using your freedom. that way, those items will qualify for extended warranty and all those perks.
Did you say it did not make too much differences if I closed it 2 months after opening or 10 months after opening? Either way, AAoA would be the same, correct?

the account continues to report on your credit reports for up to 10 years in most cases.
Sometimes it may fall off early, and sometimes it continues to stay on your CR even after 10 years. YMMV on that.
Eitherways, your AAoA will remain unaffected as the closed account will continue to age until it falls off your CR.
