Good thing none of us jumped on it first thing.
Strange all the people who called, chatted or stopped in to a branch were told 5x last week.
Showe's the CS and employees just read the same web page as we do.
This smells like someone realizing that the card got posted to online forums and they were about to lose big money.

I assume a non-zero people actually applied and got the card under the impression they were getting 5%. I suspect no redress if the T&Cs were correct (as there is usually language that that is the entire contract) and also rewards can change at any time...

A change from 5% to 3% cashback should be considered as a change adversely affecting members and being a state-chartered CU doesn't automatically absolve the CU from being bound by US TItle 12 regulations (the term 'credit union' specifically includes those with state charters) so they may have to give at least 30 days notice of such a rewards change.
So did it actually show 5x? I just looked at archive.org for the last 4 months and it's always showed 3x the points on Gas, Groceries, and restaurants.
Looks like the 3x the points is what they've always offered, if it did show 5x then it was most likely a mistype.

Yes, it literally read 5X. Didn't think to get a screen shot. It said 5X on the upper part of the page, and even 5X in the footnotes.
I did think it was weird how the 5X streaming had a $6k spend cap and the 5X GGR had it's own $6k spend cap. I just thought they were being nice and pulling out the 5X streaming (typically a smaller spend) so it didn't dig into your 5X GGR!
Like Kforce said, I am glad I didn't join the CU / apply for the card. I was thiiiiiis close.

Did it change? If the terms in the T&Cs on the app had the 3% correct, the fact that the web page had something else is like a rep telling you something wrong. If the agreement is the whole blah blah, then the 5% was meaningless noise!
If anyone is interested, I found a DOC article where they had captured a screenshot of the 5% Streaming, Gas, Grocery, Restaurant.
I am considering this card the current 5% rewards catagory streaming is useless to me. I have no streaming services. See link below for current reward catagories and percentages

What do you mean by 'current'? It is always " 5X Points on Streaming Services2, 3X Points on Gas, Groceries & Restaurants2 and 1X Points on Everything Else2".
There just happened to be a "typo" for a short while that had GGR at 5X too.
