Hello, I am thinking of applying Citi AA card and want to do expense soon. I am reading that they can take up to 14 business days to deliver card, with no expedite option. In fact my Capital One card also took 11 days. Is it possible to use card, once I am approved? Can support guy give me card number, active that and let me use it before actual card arrives to me? Thanks in advance
You should be able to activate your card through their app, although with most lenders only a portion of the CL will be available to spend until the physical card comes. Once you activate it, it should tell you what your temporary limit is.
Not sure if this helps but with my recent citi Custom Cash approval, I was immediatley given the card number and a 'temp' CCV to use right away. It only allows $1,000 of the total $11,600 limit to be used.
So.. Citi gives this option, but limited CL. This is good to know
This is probably too late to help you with the Capital One card now, but they allow you to get access to your credit card credit line by letting you use a virtual number to shop with while you wait for the physical card to arrive. Also I know that Amex will give you the number as soon as you apply and also let you add it to your mobile wallet. Also Goldman Sachs will let you add the Apple Card to your mobile wallet. I know you were asking specifically about the Citi AA card but just wanted to mention some cards I know that you can use without the physical card after approval.
Thanks.
I have capital one and will look to apply for AA or Amex. As per your obesrvation, looks like Amex can accomodate my request.

You do get the card number upon approval - which I
Immediately used
for my flight. At the approval, you get a warning to Print or copy the information.
I had no cap/restrictions on my
SL as mentioned with the Custom Cash.
I highly doubt any Citi rep will provide it to you for security reasons.
The card took about 7 days to arrive.

Also, note that the sign on bonuses and spend requirements are different from the Citi site versus going through American Airlines. You might wanna compare the two to see which suits you better.
I personally went through the American Airlines site to
apply.
sidebar - don't get confused with the Barclays version of its American Airlines Aviator Red card.
