For a capital one platinum with a $1k limit.
On credit karma they showed my score as 640 & suggested this card as a good chance at approval.
I signed up for experian credit product for $5 trial & I got all 3 credit reports/fico scores. They're all around 540 not 640!
The only one around 640 was my auto loan score.
Does anyone have any idea how this works? I'm wondering if I should try for another unsecured capital one card now , since this approval gives me only 1 card and I'm reading 3 is ideal. And Experian is only suggesting that I'm a likely candidate for secured cards from sketchy companies like creditone.
Also important to note that one of my collections is a capital one card that went into collections in 2015 so I'm super lost now lol.
That specific card is a card that is easy for approval. One of the easiest non predatory cards that isnt secured. Still very surprised you got it. Congrats. But don’t take that as a sign you can go applying like crazy. Use it for six months. PIF every month, and you may be able to eventually PC it to a quicksilver. Let it work for you. Put some good history on your profile. Before you know it you’ll edge above 600 and can think about getting another card. Or you can just get a couple secured cards now and you’ll have the three starter cards to do AZERO to help your score.
Wow, everyone thought you were in the credit steps program, but this is another animal. Congrats, they will not give me an increase.
you should pay your collections with cap1. If it happened in 2015, it will stay on your report until 2022, not 2019. Also, cap1 could sue you before the statute of limitations us up. They sued me.
