Cannot Link Amex Card

So I just signed up for a 70,000 mile, $100 statement credit for the Amex Delta Platinum. I was approved, and when I tried to link the card to my Amex account, it told me that unfortunately I could not link this card to my account and would have to create a new a user ID and password. Has anyone else ever had this problem, and is there a fix?

I know having separate logins can be a good thing for offers, but I prefer the convenience of having everything together.

First off, congrats!  And yes, this sometimes happens with a new card.  For both DW and myself, we had to create new online accounts for our Delta cards, then when we received the actual physical cards we removed them from the new online accounts and added them to our existing ones.

Ok thanks! I wasn’t sure if that was an option.

Happened to me too. I figured they needed the actual card activation and 4-digit number to add it to your account. Waiting on my platinum card to arrive.

You can also just call them or get on chat and have them do it for you. I always have the same problem as you are having and just jump on chat and have them add it.

Did you get an approval email? I was approved for an Everyday card last week. The approval email had a link to create an online account for it. When I clicked it had me log into my existing BCE account and added Everyday to it

Re: Cannot Link Amex Card

Happened to me recently also
It’s bc the card isn’t registered in the system yet oddly. It wasn’t that way before. But give it a day and it will work. I had to call in to find that out

I did the same except I chatted with the rep less than 5 minutes after setting up the new account to move the card over to my existing one Smiley LOL
