I have 2 Cap1 Cards. The first one I’ve had going on 3 years and it started out as a $250 card that I kept requesting CLI's on. The second was a Cap 1 Cash rewards card that started off with a $750 CL and now I’m up to $4750.
I contacted the Executive office back in march and had them both product changed to the QuickSilverOne. I'm in a much better place credit wise and I really dont need these cards or want the annual fee they have. I called regular customer service to inquire what can be done.
My initial requests
1: Combine Credit Limits - Denied
2: Increase Credit Limits - Denied (already increased this month)
3: Lower APR - They said it could be done
Card 1($1750Limit): 22.9% -> 17.9%
Card 2($4750Limit): 19.8% -> 15.9%
4: Upgrade the Cards – They said it could be done on one card
Card 1($1750Limit): Denied
Card 2($4750Limit): Said I could upgrade to Quicksilver Platinum MC or Venture Platinum MC.
I really don’t use either card because of the higher interest rate and the lower credit limit. I don’t want to close my longest CC either but I’m willing to.Do you think an email to the Executive Office could yield;
1:Combining of the Credit limits OR
2: Credit line increase to match other credit lines
3: A lower APR somewhere around 13% (at least for Card 2)
4: Upgrading to Quicksilver World MC (at least for card 2)
Suggestions? Are my requests unreasonable?
I would definitley upgrade to the regular Quicksilver. I highly doubt you'll be able to combine the limits or receive a credit line increase, but it never hurts to try. Regardless getting rid of those annual fees will help your situation. The Quicksilver no annual fee card is my favorite credit card, so I think you're getting a significant upgrade.
