Cap one buypower card

Received a preapproval for this today with 0% for 12 months, then 22.9%. Says cl 300-3000. Um thanks but no thanks!

Of course i FINALLLLLY receive a prequal in the mail besides credit one, and its for a card id never want.

Maybe if I ignore it, ill finally get a Venture prequal... One can hope 😉

Not a very good prequal especially for what I think is a weak card (the 5% is only for the first $5k, after that it's just another 2% card so it would seem like it takes forever to rack up useful earnings towards a car). Keep waiting for something better!

Re: Cap one buypower card

Oh believe me there was 0 chance of me applying for this card! I wouldn't even use the rewards. And ive heard horror stories of 300 limits stuck for years.

I gardened (not officially) the past 7months, except for one Lowes card. Ive seen how that improved my scores. Im gonna make the next couple cards worth it!

That was the old capital one. hope you have been noticing. They put some one else in charge of credit limits. Can you beleive some one has a 60k cap one card now. I also got the pre approval for the card. For some reason i thought it was credit one. and it went straight to the shredder without ever opening the envelope. Hope they send it again. Smiley Very Happy

Re: Cap one buypower card

I've noticed the venture and qs limits. But the research ive seen on myfico showed many small cl on gm buypower card. Wouldnt want it anyways.

Those venture limits though... All i can say is i hope its not true about cap one tightening up! With my luck, by the time i finally apply this year they'll stop those limits and approvals. Whatever will be will be.

I think the limits will remain on both Qs and Venture. this has been going on since febuary now. with no signs of stoppage. However on the Gm. You have a point. From every thing i read in the literature it clearly states limits will be from $300 to 3k. and ive yet to see someone get the 3k. hehehe. but im sure it will grow.  im thinking about my Qs1. i got a year ago. Started at $500. now at $5500 in less than a year.  upgraded 2 times. once to Qs no Af. Then to Qs World. Ive not asked for another Cli since my usage is non existent now with it.

Well, I don't see it lasting forever. People with only so-so credit got 20 or even 30k Ventures. That money has to come from somewhere. Someone at Capital One is going to say "enough!" eventually, when in reality most of these people should have been given 5k or 8k not 20k. I know I'm being the voice of discouragement, but the reality is it won't last forever. You don't see Chase handing out 30k CSPs.

Not really. I got instantly approved for $15K. I got increased to $20K a few months ago by clicking the button.

I was actually approved for the 3K SL But I have seen all of the threads with the $300 lines and I have lower scores than most of the regular posters here so I'm not sure what the requirments are. The BuyPower card was actually my second card, maybe that has something to do with it?

Well that makes sense because you don't have that many cards. Cap one would like you to make them number 1. Congrats on the first nice limit ive seen on the card. many $300 and $500 limits for sure .
