Capital 1 says I might have opted out

I check Cap1 for CLI's occasionally. I also try to pre-qual to see if I can get a card with no AF and combine all my others into it to make just one card. I have 2 Quicksilver 1 cards with $1750 and $2650 limits. Both are now out of credit steps. I also have a Spark Classic with a $1500 limit that I use a whole lot and make multiple large payments every week.

Historically, my pre-qual page always says no matches found. In the last couple of months I started getting this page. I have not opted out as I still get offers (as late as today) from other card companies. I don't want to apply unless I know its a solid offer since they pull all 3. Any thoughts as to why this is happening? Anyone else get this page?

Generic boilerplate that anybody without a pre qual gets.

Re: Capital 1 says I might have opted out

Do you need more than 3 cards with Cap1?

Sometimes the pre-qual stops working for a variety of reasons.  Moved? Already have accounts? Information mismatch? No SP recently with sufficient qualified scores? It's not an active SP when you go through these.... mostly marketing does SP buys from the CRA's within certain parameters periodically and that's how you end up getting matched up usually.  That's how they end up matching on the last 4 #'s instead of a full SSN.

Ok, that is good to know. I didn't know they changed the message. They probably get to give more HP's with that message. lol

They ask for my entire SS# on the pre-qual page. I don't need 3 cards. I want to get a QS and then merge them all to get a bigger limit. For some reason the Modify Your Features link is gone and the folks at Chat say I am not eligible to an upgrade on any of my cards.

Well, since they changed their pull policy a couple of years ago to a triple pull for each card that has slowed things down a bit.  Also, now they have the 1 card per 6 months in play as well.  So, yeah, it's a waiting game.

And I am okay with that. I go in from time to time and try. I was just curious if it was just me getting this. I put in my moms info for her and she got a Platinum and QS1 pre-qual so I tried my info. No dice. lol

Re: Capital 1 says I might have opted out

You said your goal was PC and account combo, so Apping won't further that goal anyway.

Even if you were approved for yet ANOTHER Cap-1 card, you'd have to wait a half YEAR with the new account just 'see' if they allowed you to combo the accounts anyway.

So you'd basically be in the same spot with 3 more HPs a young card vs the aged ones you have now...still waiting to combo or PC into one account on Cap-1's timetable.....

You may as well keep what you have and play the waiting game, keep punching the luv monkey till it pops.... ZERO need to app for around card

Re: Capital 1 says I might have opted out

I get the same message and have been getting it for the past month. I think its just the website kicking out a generic response.
