I have a Quicksilver, SavorOne and Walmart MC with Capital One. I would love the VentureOne but Capital one told me last year I had too many cards with them. I just did the preapproval again just to see exactly what they said and apparently I'm at the limit for their core cards lol. If they consider having a quicksilver and SavorOne their limit...then why when I plug my husbands info in (he has a quicksilver  and quicksilver one), they prequalified him for the SavorOne 🤔

My understanding is they will consider the Walmart MC as part of that mix, not just core cards in general. Same for those profiles who may have the Cabela's/BassPro MC. One may say... well, it's a co-branded/PLCC... it shouldn't count, but it appears that when the Cabela's portfolio was acquired, it became part of the count and the same thing happened with the Walmart MC. There could be some internal exceptions, but it also may depend on the account types as well (i.e. prime vs subprime).

Re: Capital One 2 Card Rule

I received a cross shredder yesterday. It has an icon to cut credit cards.

I decided to test is with the Cap1 plat. It was so smooth, I used with the QS too.

Then the Walmart Rewards. Also bucketed. For this one, you have to call.

The others, just nix 'em in the webpage. Gone in 2 minutes.

Maybe the don't consider the WR a subprime card. Even if it is.

Cheers.

Sorry, I know this is an old thread.  I've been using the preapproval tool for months to judge my acceptance for the Venture X.  It's been giving me cards I'm preapproved for for several months and suddently gave me this same error last month.

I only have two Cap One cards, a QS1 (subprime) and a VentureOne which was upgraded to from a Subprime QS1.  I'm not sure if I technically have two subprime cards or 1-and-1 but either way I'm surprised I'd be over the card limit.

Hey buddy, one quick question: Did they hard pull you when you upgraded from QS1 to VentureOne? Thanks in advance for your answer?

Re: Capital One 2 Card Rule

Quick question. Does the Capital One 2 card rule apply to co-brands of theirs too or only the Primes?

Woot! Good to know. I can wait them out long as it takes for them to loosen up.

Re: Capital One 2 Card Rule

Not sure what the rules are but I can speak on what I have with Capital One. I currently hold the SAVORONE, QUIKSILVERONE, and SECURED PLATINUM. However that seems to be my limit as pre approval page says that I now hold too many of their cards.

Re: Capital One 2 Card Rule

On a side note, out of nowhere, maybe because my SavorOne passed the one year mark, I just checked their preapproval and I'm HIGHLY confused because I'm preapproved now for their Platinum, Quicksilver and their SavorOne. I'm confused on the SavorOne because to my knowledge you can only hold one....
