I know this is an older thread but what happened with this? Did capital one credit you?
I just helped my mom do a balance transfer from her NFCU Amex to Capital One. When I entered the account# it said "american express" and i figured it was reading the type of card it is since it's amex network. I figured on the next screen it would have me enter the issuer address. But no, it just said complete. Now after reading this i'm afraid they're going to send the payment to American Express instead of to Navy Federal.
I had her call capital one to try and cancel the BT but they said they couldn't cancel it, and that it was already being processed.
