I'm considering grabbing a Venture/Venture X, and I am wondering what kind of perks/rewards Capital One offers. Chase has their shopping links with increased earnings, the bonus cashback offers, and occasional extra earning categories (like the 5x on gas/travel with the Prime through June). Amex has the bonus cashback offers that you can activate, as does BoA.
Does Capital One have anything like this? Do they ever offer temporary extra increases on other categories, a shopping portal, and/or any of those "activate before spending" offers?
They have a shopping portal that you can earn extra cashback when you activate it. I can't speak for the Venture/Venture X as those aren't cashback cards. I have QS and QSOne (both sock drawered) and I get emails about saving more on their shopping portal.

Regarding cash back offer, allegedly takes a long time to get statement credit, nothing like Chase or Amex
As far as increased earnings, I never got anything from Cap One on QS ( it's been SD'ed for years, they forgot about me, I forget about them to the point of almost attempting to dispute account under "not mine")

This is 100% true. I have noticed it can take upwards of 2-3 statements before you see the credit. And they never give you that warm and gushy feeling too after you make your purchase like "your 15% was just applied and it could take x-amount of days to see your credit" Nothing. A little email or something acknowledging would be nice this way at least you know it was applied, and you just need to play the waiting game. I wonder sometimes if there are credits out there I never got becuase I forgot.
My limited experience with Capital One offers mirrors what's stated above. There's little to no feedback, and I've forgotten about the offer by the time the statement credit shows up.
To ice the cake, the statement credit can easily create a negative statement balance to deal with.

Exactly what I have now on one of my CapOne accounts.
Cap1 is mildly spammy with their shopping portal links imo.
On the one hand, they have many of them available what seems to be 100% of the time, and I don't think it's possible to "use them up" like with an offer you attached to your card on AmEx, Chase, BofA etc. On the other hand, you do need to go through the dang portal every time, which was heavily confusing to P2 after he used the Udemy offer once, and now can't get them to charge a different card in the recurring payment he has set up.
But, if you know you need to shop somewhere and are good with using portals, they seem good.

Capital One must be trolling me. All of a sudden after using one of thier Bonus Category links a week or so ago to buy dog food, I got this email from them today:
The timing of this email is very humorous!
@Wavester64 That's just a confirmation of successful offer submission, letting you know your recent purchase will definitely be counted for the statement credit offer. I only "sometimes" get that confirmation following shipping of the order. Sometimes I just get the statement credit a few weeks later with no prior email acknowledgment.
