I got a letter in the mail today saying congrats! your credit line has been increased 2,000 dollars for a total credit line of 9,500...

I'm excited! This is my first credit card that I opened back in November 2005...it started out with a 200.00 credit limit! This made my day!

Congrats! Were you carrying a balance when they granted you the increase?

Yes. It suprises me...I got one of those 1.99% for the life of the transfer BT offers from them about 2 years ago, I transferred about 3,000 dollars and have been paying it back since, right now my balance on their card is 1,500.00....I don't owe the card any other amount aside from the BT offer...so I was thinking they would start chasing the balance, CLD, etc.

Congrats! CapitalOne sent me a preapproval invitation for $10,000 back in 10/2005.  I received it and paid it back after less than a year.  I didn't need it.  I just wanted to add it to my credit mixture.  Ever since then, I haven't received any CLI's or offers besides a mortgage loan invitation.
