Capital One Double Dipped my rewards!

I don't know if I should tell this or not LOL. I had $144 transaction of travel that I got reimbursed from the Venture. After I reimbursed it I logged in again to try and get some gift cards with my remaining miles. I Screenshot_2016-03-25-14-59-12.pngended up seeing that my travel was still there even though I already had it reimbursed. I didn't have any more travel that I used. I hit the button again to get it reimbursed thinking it wouldn't go through. It went through again. Expected to receive an email saying they couldn't do it or it wouldn't go all the way through the system, but it did. I'm not complaining! I just thought it was cool interesting...

Really? Fraud?? Lol They are my miles. I was just allocating them elsewhere. Not my fault the system was off.

Sounds like if they made an error they will probably correct it and take the miles back.

Re: Capital One Double Dipped my rewards!

It's not like someone giving me extra change at the restaurant and me not saying anything. More like the restaurant handing me a coupon for a free meal for next time, except they accidentally handed me two. I could say something...but not a huge deal. It is a huge deal if the waitress's till is short, she could get fired.
I'm not going to call Capital One and say Hey you put my miles in the wrong spot! Probably costs them less than the gift cards through 3rd parties lol.

Just thought it was kind of cool. And interesting. Their system isn't flawless.

Re: Capital One Double Dipped my rewards!

but just to be clear of what happened.

im guessing it's a venture card. they have a 'travel purchase eraser' i think. you erased $144 charged but when you logged back in, that supposed erased $144 charged was still there so you 'erased' it again and the system let you? hmm seems like just a delayed reaction by the system. i think it would get merged and only one $144 would be credited. was $288 'erased' from your total balance when you did it the second time? or did it just 'hit' the same charge?

*sorry but i dont have a cap1 card, or a venture card for that matter. just trying to understand how the card works. and how we can get 'legally fraud-y' with them. LMAO!

Re: Capital One Double Dipped my rewards!

Yes, exactly purchase eraser. I logged in about 20 minutes after the first transaction. Apparently it was slow to react? They took it off of my balance owed, and it shows up no longer pending. I think it's official haha
